This is a mandatory course that must be completed when new to MercyAscot.
For Registered Nurses new to MercyAscot you must complete this competency within 3 months of employment. New Graduates RN's have 6 months to complete this competency.
MercyAscot requires an epidural to be delivered in a safe and effective manner with ongoing patient assessment and education.
Three hours of continuing education will be credited to your Trendcare when you complete all course activities and achieve an overall grade of 100% and print your certificate.
To achieve an Epidural competency you are required:
- To have a current IV Competency
- To attend Pump Training on the Epidural Sapphire Pump
- To complete this Adult Epidural course successfully
- To complete the Adult Epidural clinical audit in your clinical area. Your Adult Epidural clinical audit will only be valid if carried out by an approved assessor or the Pain Nurse Specialist.
